Artist Statement

Over the course of 17 years, acclaimed photographer Sandro Miller and inimtable actor John Malkovich com-bined their larger than-life personas to produce a series of portraits and films. They are published here together for the frist time, a true study of portrait photography, which also contains film stills, containing a total of 134 images. The portraits section depicts Malkovich in a variety of costumes and personsa, ranging from playful to serious; one shows Malkovich preparing to transform into a character in his dressing room, while another demonstrates his ability to manipulate a variety of facial expressions that run the gamut from happiness to shock and anger.
